Sewing Projects

A dog crate cover for a friend. The ties allow the front flap to be secured back.  We chose drop cloth material because it’s cheap and durable.

My friend also wanted a little half apron, so I whipped this up from the drop cloth scraps and some of my own material. I decided to play with some decorative stitches.

This little project was a bit more complicated, but oh-so enjoyable. It is shipping off on Monday as a “thank you” gift for a friend who went out of her way to show me kindness recently.

Added bias tape the next morning, ripped some seams, and simplified.

  1. I LOVE the dog crate cover! Would you be able to make one for me? The drop cloth material is perfect and would fit into the theme of the room where the dogs’ crate is!

    1. Hi, Sabrina! I would love to, but I’m currently not quite skilled enough to sew professionally. However, I am sure you can find a cover with the right dimensions! Google “canvas dog crate cover” and you will find some fantastic, affordable options!
